Jr.
High Stampede is an
evening camp for
both 7th and 8th graders, the focus is on great nighttime fun
with other people your age.You can register for both the CIT-IT camp
and the Jr. High Stampede camp, so 7th and 8th grade friends have a
chance to share another special Camp Thurman experience.
Each evening, we plan
different activities for team competitions and high adventure. Teams
compete all week on obstacle courses, low element challenges, night
water volleyball, the Zany Zipline Monkey Drop, and a host of other
crazy activities that lead to a Friday night finale. (Competition is
often so close that Friday night becomes the deciding
winner’s event!). Before the evening is over, we gather around for a
time of praise and worship.

The
CIT-IT Leadership Training
camp is for 7th graders only and is designed to help you explore
your leadership skills, to develop your problem solving and
communication skills, and to introduce you to the idea of becoming a
part of the Camp Thurman staff community. During this evening camp,
we will build your skills to help you work as a team with other
seventh graders and see first-hand how our CT team works together to
make camp a fun experience for over 4900 campers each summer.

The training schedule consists of learning and facilitating low
elements, learning safety skills, and becoming a helpmate for many
of the camp activities. The camp also consists of fun
activities like swimming, climbing the Team Wall, creating and
performing skits, and taking part in a Friday evening night game.
Yes, this is an all-time favorite and camp looks like a completely
different place after dark.! |
