Registration
is now open to all families.

For more than 50 years Bill Sweaney (one of Camp Thurman's founders) has taught Sunday School to 2 and 3 year olds.  He and his wife Nona wanted to be a part of helping these kids learn early that Jesus loves them.  This new pre-camp program has the same mission - sharing the love of Jesus in an exciting, safe, fun, outdoor camp with CT's youngest.

How is this camp special for the campers?

  • Fewer total campers

  • Smaller groups

  • More individual time at each activity

  • New activities

We are limiting the ages to those 4 or 5 and limiting the total number of registrations to this camp, still with all of Camp Thurman's woods, fields, and facilities available for their fun and adventure.  There will be only 6 campers in each group, which means more time per child on each element, and we are planning several unique activities just for this age and this camp.

Why will parents love this camp?

  • More one on one attention for their child

  • Much smaller number of total campers allowing more confidence for the young child

  • No traffic lines

  • No lunch to pack

  • Snacks, T-Shirt, photo package included in the fee

The hours for this camp will be 9:00 to 12:30, with all the activities of regular camp and more.  With smaller groups, there will be time for traditional activities like Swimming, Crafts, Petting Zoo, Water Wagon, K-Klimb, SlipNSlide, and Games.  Additional activities for the Kids Club will be a new water activity, Ranges, and a new Trike Trek.
There will still be skits and songs, but camp is ending at 12:30, so that lunch can be at home (or lunch out with the family).  That means no lunch to pack.  And, finally, Uncle Bill's Kids will receive a free special CT T-shirt designed just for them, a free photo package, and a free mid-morning snack.

REGISTRATION FOR UNCLE BILL'S KIDS CLUB:  If you would like to register your child, you may use our online registration.  If your family was a 2009 participant at CT or you have already registered another child in your family for 2010, be sure to use the Returning User side of the login.  New families use the First Time User side of the login.
Or, you may download a Regular Registration form from our FORMS page or pick one up from the camp office or from the FORMS box just outside our entrance gates on Sarah Dr.  It is the white rectangular box closest to the gates.  Once you have filled in the forms, you may turn them in by mail, at the drop-off outside our entrance gates, or in person at the office.

The Camp Office is currently open on Wednesdays, from 10:00 to 4:00, or you may contact us by leaving a message on 817-274-8441 or by sending an email to campthurman@sbcglobal.net.  Office Email is answered Monday through Friday.

The fee for Kids Club registration for our 4- and 5-year olds in 2010 will be $175 for the program which runs from 9:00 AM to 12:30 PM.  The fee includes snacks, T-Shirt, and photo package.  Early Registration Discount price is $160.

Waiting List Registrations are recorded in the order they are received.  There is a $6 non-refundable deposit required to be listed on our waitlist.  Traditionally we are able to place about 50% of our Regular Day Camp waitlist campers.  Because of the smaller number of available spots in the Kids Club Program, chances of moving in from those lists are much less.  Being placed from any waiting list will depend on any cancellations we receive. We will keep your camper's name on our waiting list until the day before the session you have chosen, unless you call to ask us to take you off the list.  If we are able to place you from a waitlist into a confirmed status, we do NOT call first, so if you change your mind, please contact us in writing to remove you from that waitlist.  When we have moved your child into a confirmed status, you will receive a Placed From Waitlist email confirmation.  If you do not receive an email then they are still on the waiting list.

Or, if this week is full and you do not want to be placed on the waiting list at all, please indicate that on your form.  Otherwise we will place you there.  If you are mailing in a check with a waitlist registration, please make it for $6 only.  If we are able to place your child, we will auto-bill through eCheck the balance.  If you indicate that you prefer to pay with debit or credit card, you will be charged $6 at the time you are placed on the waitlist.  We will auto-bill your debit/credit card the balance if we are able to place your camper.   If we do place you from the waiting list, you will receive an email confirmation.  Unless you respond within one week that you do not want to be placed, you are committed to that week.

We will record each of the online regular or wait list registrations as we receive them.  If you choose this option to register, you may use a debit/credit card or electronic check.  Online registrations for available weeks are confirmed immediately.  If a week is FULL, you may register for the WAITLIST for that week.  There is a $6 non-refundable fee to register for a waitlist.

PROCESSING FEE:  Each camper's fees will include a $5 per week processing fee.

Payment of the registration fees may be made in installments.
If you would like to pay in that manner and you are not registering online, you may print the Multi-Pay Plan info and form online.  If you mail or drop-off your registration form, and you would like to pay in installments, the Payment Plan Option sheet must be attached to your registration form.
If you use the online registration, you may indicate the Payment Plan Option during the payment process, without the need to mail in a Payment Plan sheet.  Payment installments will be automatically charged or drafted from your checking account on dates you will be given in an additional payment-plan information email.

A limited number of scholarships are available each year; however please register early as all scholarship monies are usually awarded by April 1st.  If you would like to provide a scholarship for a child in the community to have a week of unforgettable memories, please call or email, and we'll welcome your tax-deductible contribution.  Scholarship donations are used only for providing camper scholarships.  You may designate specific campers, or we will offer the scholarship to a child who otherwise would not be able to participate.  Scholarship forms may be downloaded from our FORMS page.  <top>

Fill in your choice of "Place in a group with" on the Registration Form carefully. Check to make sure your "group-mate" choices are registering for the same week you are, that they are of the same sex and age. Most of the groups will be either all 4's or all 5's, but we may have one or two groups which are mixed 4's and 5's.  The staff at Camp Thurman wants to place your child in a group which will make his/her experience here the happiest possible, and we do our best to fulfill your requests, but once the weeks are full, and the groups are formed, it is very difficult for us to change one camper from group to group without disappointing another camper.  <top>

Change of Weeks:  Once your registration has been submitted, you are committed to that week.  If later, you find it necessary to request a change of weeks, you must do so in writing, either through the website  or regular mail.  No change of weeks will be made by phone.  If the week you desire is available, we will be glad to make that change; however it will not be official until you receive a Change-Of-Weeks Confirmation from the office or you see that change on your MyCampThurmanAccount online, so please let us know if you do not receive one, and please keep that confirmation for your records.

As long as you request a change of weeks at least two weeks before your camp date, and the week you would like to move to is available, we will make that first request for a change for a $5 fee.  Any subsequent requests will be a $10 fee.
Change of weeks during the last two weeks before camp will be considered a cancellation and re-registration.  You will be required to pay for an additional week
.

Cancellations/Penalties:     There is a $25 charge for returned checks.  A 50% refund is available if you cancel at least two weeks before your session date.  No refunds will be made for cancellations in the last two weeks before your session date.  Cancellations must be requested in writing, either through the website or regular mail.  No cancellation of weeks will be made by phone.  <top>
