SUNSHINE CAMP

What is so unique about this camp week?

Our 4-year-old campers are a very important part of our camp!  Each week we have one group of 4-year-old boys and one group of 4-year-old girls who begin the amazing journey of memories called Camp Thurman! Counselors, who have a desire and talent to work with our youngest campers, lead these little ones each day through an activity schedule we call Sunshine Days.

The days are filled with fun things to do such as talking about Jesus, spending time with a counselor who delights in them, and starting their own tradition of looking forward to an exciting, happy week at Camp Thurman.

When are the Sunshine Day Camps?

Sunshine Camp runs the same days as Regular Day CampJune 5 to August 11and each day runs from 9am to 1:15pm with one group of 10 boys and one group of 10 girls each session.

UNCLE BILL’S CAMP

History of Uncle Bill’s

For more than 50 years Bill Sweaney (one of Camp Thurman’s founders) taught Sunday School to 2 and 3 year olds. He and his wife Nona wanted to be a part of helping these kids learn early that Jesus loves them. This pre-camp program has the same mission – sharing the love of Jesus in an exciting, safe, fun, outdoor camp with CT’s youngest.

With fewer total campers, smaller groups, and more individual time at each activity, Uncle Bill’s Kids Club is perfect for our little 4 and 5-year old campers.

What will my camper do?

More one-on-one interaction with staff gives many young campers more confidence to participate in activities such as ziplines at the Jordan Gully, archery and BB guns at the ranges, a petting zoo, crafts, a Slip ‘N Slide and more. Each day starts with a big group Bible lesson and ends together with Skits and Songs. All groups will also swim once a day and have a chance to visit our Snack Shop.

When is Uncle Bill’s?

Uncle Bill’s is offered only the week of May 29 to June 2 from 9am to 12:30pm.
