This is Guppy’s first year as a staff member, but in no way is she new to Camp Thurman! Guppy was a camper herself numerous summers as a kid, and her sister and brother have both worked for the camp as well. She just graduated from Tyler Junior College in May and will be attending UT Arlington in the fall. She is pursuing her bachelors and masters in Social Work in the hopes to work in an adoption agency or somewhere closely tied with children. The Lord has definitely laid children on Guppy’s heart, and she wants to use His name to mend what is so broken in this world.

When she was a camper, Guppy fell in love with how the camp focuses on helping the kids find their identity in Christ and aiding in igniting a passion for the Lord while having an absolute blast. She decided to become a counselor because Camp Thurman made a deep impact on her heart as a kid, and she desires to be a part of that same experience the campers will have. Guppy is oh so excited to meet and minister to her campers this summer!
