Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.”

— Joshua 1:9 (NIV)

Jitterbug

Jitterbug is pumped to start her 5th summer as a counselor at CT (9th summer on staff total and her 17th summer at camp including years she was a camper WOAH). Jitterbug just graduated from Baylor University, earning her Bachelor’s in Social Work and plans to continue her education, working toward a Master’s in Social Work, at either UT or UTA. She wants to work to get people out of generational poverty and give them equal opportunities in education. During her college years, Jitterbug was a Younglife leader and worked many places, including a farm and multiple ice cream shops!

She loves trying new things and getting out of her comfort zone but she knew she had to spend another summer out at CT! Camp Thurman is a special place to Jitterbug because of the family feel of the staff and the opportunity to hang out with kids and show them what fun a life with Jesus can be. Jitterbug thinks God is calling her to slow down after four busy years in college and read more books, spend time doing things she loves like kayaking and singing and discover cool spots around the DFW area. She can’t wait to see what this summer has in store!
