Scholarship Request Information

Our Scholarship funds for the 2010 season have been exhausted.  Please contact the registrar at campthurman@campthurman.org to arrange special payment plans.

The Camp Thurman Scholarship Program is made possible through the generous donations of individuals and organizations, not from the fees we charge our campers.  Last year over $10000 in scholarships were awarded to deserving campers.  All prospective campers in financial need are eligible to apply for a scholarship between Oct. 1st and April 15th, but we cannot guarantee every request will be honored.  All applicants will be notified on the outcome of their requests within one month. 

Policies and Procedures:
   1)  Most scholarships awarded are for 1/2 or less of the registration fee.
   2)  Campers who have never received a scholarship from Camp Thurman will be considered first.
   3)  All requests will be processed within one month and will be notified by email the result of the request.  Those not able to receive scholarships will have the option to pay in full and still attend camp.  Those receiving partial scholarships will be set up on a payment plan to pay the portion not paid by scholarship.  Final payment will be due at least one week before the camp date.
   4)  Scholarship funds do not apply to snack shop, t-shirts, or any other camp merchandise.

To apply online:
   1)  Use the regular Registration process to register each child.
   2)  When the section dealing with payment is on the screen, choose the base fee option "Scholarship Request".
   3)  At the end of the process, your credit/debit card will be charged or your bank will be debited by eCheck for the $30 deposit, the $5 processing fee, and any options you choose.
   4)  Immediately after you submit the online registrations, you will receive an automatic email confirmation showing your camper's registration and showing the Scholarship deposit you have made.
   5)  Within two weeks after you have completed the online registration, you will be emailed the status of your request.  If your request is granted, the email will detail the amount of the scholarship and the dates and amounts of the remaining payments to pay the balance of the fees.
   6)  If you are not granted a scholarship, and you decide not to participate this year, all fees except the $5 processing fee will be refunded.
