"Camp Thurman has had probably one of the biggest impacts on my testimony. I started going to CT since I was eight years old, and I could just feel the presence of God there from the start. God put some incredible coworkers who I now call friends that taught me what it was like to have Christlike friendships and just teaching me that I am cherished and valued by God. So many people poured into me and have made me into the man of God I am today. God has been so faithful to me and used Camp Thurman to grow me in so many ways. It grew me in my confidence of myself, in my personal relationship with God, taught me how to have Godly friendships with others, and most importantly how to share the Gospel with others! Camp Thurman is such an incredible place to be known and grow into who God created you to be!"

Another staff highlight, another absolute keeper!
Brisket has spent many years here at camp, starting as a camper and working her way up to counselor. Here`s what she has to say about her time at CT!
"Camp has impacted my life in just so many ways! I have been blessed to grow up around camp and receive all that it has to offer and actually can`t get enough of it. While at camp, I believe that I am truly the best version of myself and continually am surrounded by such wonderful people who affirm who I am in Christ! At camp I have had so many opportunities to inhale and exhale the gospel. While camp is a job, it is the most lighthearted and Christ centered work environment that you can be at! While being in the heat is exhausting and always a challenge, it causes me to rely more heavily on the Lord to recharge me and prepare me for the next day or week. This job has taught me many lessons about patience, joyfulness, work ethic, listening skills and true friendship. Truly, I wouldn`t be who I am without this camp and its staff. I can`t wait for year four and all the wonderful memories and gospel conversations that I will get to experience this year! "

We have to spotlight one of very best counselors of the past few years! Maui absolutely embodies what it means to be a servant leader, and has certainly made an impact on our ministry. Here`s what he has to say about camp!
"Camp Thurman has been one of the most impactful jobs I have had! I love how much I get to shine the light of Christ on the kids I get to lead each week! There is no better feeling than to pour out on the children of God and have those around pour into you. Camp Thurman truly is a special place and I’m so honored to be apart of the mission of God taking place in the 14 acres!!"

"Growing up as a camper at Camp Thurman, I always looked up to my counselors. Now being able to work here and pour into my own campers for the past 4 summers has been one of the greatest experiences! Camp Thurman has helped me grow closer to Christ by being able to walk alongside like-minded staff who share the same pursuit for this ministry! Having the opportunity to be out at Camp and spreading the Gospel is a HUGE blessing! I would not be where I am today without Camp Thurman and it’s staff. I have made some of my best friends out here, and cannot wait to continue to build more relationships in the coming summers!"

Camp has made my social skills sky rocket. Confidence, speaking ability, leadership with other people, and working with other people, are all areas where camp has developed me personally. I even had a class final in college where I was tasked with speaking in front of people for an extended period of time. I was nervous at first, but remembered I used to do this everyday in the summer, in front of a bunch of eight year olds!
Overall camp has made me a better person and has taught me lessons about patience, work ethic, serving the Lord, and friendship. "

"For the past 3 summers Camp Thurman has had an incredible impact on building my faith, biblical community, and overall sanctification. Without a doubt my favorite parts of CT has been getting the opportunity to pour into the younger staff and having conversations with campers about their faith. By these experiences I feel that I have grown in gentleness when it comes to loving the staff and campers that I work with."
