Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God. When Christ, who is your life, appears, then you also will appear with him in glory.

Colossians 3:2-4 (NIV)

TImber is going to be a sophomore at the University of North Texas this fall. She is majoring in Communication Studies. She plans on becoming an elementary teacher in the future. Prior to Attending UNT Timber studied at Texas State University for one semester before moving back home to be closer to her family and assist with her Mothers disability of Multiple Sclerosis. Therefore, she has decided to go to school closer to her home town. This will be Timber’s first year as a counselor at Camp Thurman. Timber spent three summers at Camp Thurman as a camper as well and hoped that one day she would be able to make a difference in student’s life just as her counselors did for her. Her sister was the first to take the jump in working at Camp Thurman. Polaroid, Timber’s sister is an assistant counselor who said that she really needed to get out to the camp grounds and help her spread the love of God to the campers and that is what Timber intends on doing. She was raised in a Christian household but it wasn’t until her first summer at Camp Thurman that she truly believed the word of God and became a follower of Christ and she knew she never wanted to stray away from Him for the rest of her life. Camp Thurman allowed TImber to play outdoors, learn the word or God, and sing worship songs alongside her fellow campers. Since her last summer at Camp Thurman in 2009 Timber has been on four mission trips, been a Dnow leader, and is currently one of the Worship leaders at Pantego Bible Church.
